Longarm Certification & Pro-Stitcher Essentials (On-site training for Groups of 8+)

This on site training is designed for groups of eight or more and is taught at your chosen location. A longarm quilting machine must be available at the destination.
This course is ideal for anyone who already has access to a longarm or is considering purchasing one in the future.

This workshop is suitable for Handi Quilter, Baby Lock, and Janome longarm machines, and for students using the ProStitcher computerized quilting system.

This full day, hands on class combines both Longarm Certification and ProStitcher Essentials, giving students a complete foundation in free motion quilting and computerized edge to edge quilting.

Longarm Certification – Free Motion Foundations

In this section, students will learn the essential skills needed to confidently operate a longarm quilting machine. We will cover:

• Quilt preparation and how to properly load a quilt onto the frame

• Thread choices, tension basics, and troubleshooting common issues

• Machine operation, safety, and best practices

• Free motion quilting techniques and beginner friendly design ideas

• How to quilt an allover design using a pantograph

  • (Pantograph instruction included only if your longarm has rear handlebars)

By the end of this portion of the class, students will be able to quilt a complete allover design on their own quilt. A detailed handout is provided for reference.

ProStitcher Essentials – Computerized Quilting

The second half of the course introduces students to ProStitcher, focusing on practical, real world skills for successful edge to edge quilting. Students will learn:

• How to set up and define the quilting area

• Loading and selecting designs

• Advancing the quilt and repositioning accurately

• Recovering from thread breaks or interruptions

• Tips for smooth, consistent stitching from start to finish

This session is fully hands on, giving each student the opportunity to work directly with the software and machine.
