French Braid Quilt—Modern Movement in Fabric Class

Join us for a fun and flowing quilt-making experience with the striking French Braid design! This class introduces the fundamentals of creating a braided panel quilt using simple strip piecing and smart color placement. Perfect for beginners and confident sewists alike, you'll learn how to achieve movement and texture with minimal fuss.

We'll walk through strip prep, braid construction, pressing tips, and layout ideas so you can finish a vibrant table runner or the beginning of a full quilt. The braid technique is forgiving and fun—and looks fabulous whether you use coordinated fabrics or go full scrappy!

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Ms Sew N' Sew's  with your class discount of 10%

Supply List:

• 1/2 yard- Starting triangles in pattern of coordinating fabric
• 1 yard- Small Strips in pattern
• 1/2 yard For small squares in pattern
• 1 yard- Coordinating solid or blender fabric for center strip in pattern
• Sewing machine (cleaned and in good working order)
• Standard sewing tools (scissors, seam ripper, pins or clips)
• Rotary cutter
• Quilter’s ruler (6½" x 24" or 6½" x 12")
• Thread (neutral 50 wt cotton or polyester)
• 20 colors with two of each 2½" strips (Jelly Roll with 2 strips of each color or Layer Cake with 20 colors and 2 squares of same print

Note: Precut fabrics work beautifully, but feel free to curate your own palette!
